From the Raskazone peninsula to the south of Tanga, you’ll find some streets in ruins, then others lovingly maintained, as well as a magnificent Art Deco villa that bears witness to the glorious days of Tanga’s sisal trade.
You’ll find architecture typical of the Indian Ocean coastline, with numerous buildings in the ancient Arab style and majestic colonial mansions where the highest members of the British Empire once lived.
If you stray a little from the city, you can explore the mangrove forest, the Amboni caves and the sublime beaches.
