Welcome on arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer to the lodge located close to the airport.
Free dinner and overnight stay at the lodge
After breakfast, departure for the Tarangire region.
Day’s safari in the Tarangire National Park considered one of the country’s beautiful wildlife refuges.
Covering an area of 2850 km², it is renowned for its exceptional concentrations of animals between August and January. The park is home to species that are harder to locate and often impossible to find in Tanzania’s other northern parks, such as the Gerenuk, lesser kudu, Oryx beisa, eland and the most sought-after antelope, greater kudu.
The park is crossed by a river that never runs dry in some places, the Tarangire River. This park has the highest concentration of baobabs in the world, which dot the landscape. Elephants, of which there are many, cut into the bark of these mythical trees to quench their thirst, as they are veritable water pumps.
In the afternoon, drive to your accommodation on the edge of the park.
Dinner and overnight stay at Ecoscience lodge(or equivalent)
Breakfast at the lodge. Depart for Manyara Park.
From the main entrance, the road winds its way through lush jungle, where groups of baboons, a hundred strong, bustle along the path, blue monkeys camouflage themselves in the trees and shy harnessed guibs move cautiously between the light and shade of the undergrowth. The silver-cheeked hornbills amaze with their enormous helmets, as if they were due to go to war in the next hour.
All-day game drive and picnic lunch under the umbrella acacias.
This park, in the Rift Valley, has an interesting diversity of wildlife to observe: elephants, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, impala and many others. The hippo pond attracts a large number of water birds. The Manyara Park sometimes offers a rare sight, that of lions perched, sometimes very high, in the umbrella acacias. Will you be so lucky as to catch a glimpse of them perched?
At the end of the day, you will drive to the village of Mto Wa Mbu, if you ask your driver, you can visit the village (see the video of this village).
Breakfast at the lodge. Depart for the Ngorongoro Crater.
This day will be devoted to discovering this famous crater, considered to be the 8th Wonder of the World ( > see the video of this place).
The crater is a vast caldera 20 km in diameter. At its heart lies an incredibly rich fauna, perfectly protected by a 600-metre-high rampart.
An exceptional moment: this is one of the only places in Tanzania where you can see the Big Five: elephant, lion, rhino, leopard and buffalo.
More than 500 species of birds, both resident and migratory, can be seen in the crater. Lake Magadi, with its brackish waters, is often visited by pink flamingos. Hippos bask in the freshwater ponds, while buffalo bathe in the mud.
Dinner and overnight at Ndutu Safari Lodge (or equivalent)
Depart for the safari in the Serengeti or to Ndutu just after breakfast.
The Serengeti is the country’s second largest national park (14,763 km2). Famous for the annual migration of thousands of wildebeest, this park offers the eye grandiose landscapes : the grassy savannah of the endless plains in the south, the wooded and undulating regions in the west, the region of the Kopjes (granite formation) in the east and the shrub savannah in the north.
The impression of freedom provided by the wide open spaces that characterise the plains of the Serengeti and the golden savannah burnt by the sun shimmering to the horizon is as fascinating as the safari itself. And, after the rains, the golden expanse is transformed into an immense green carpet dotted with wildflowers.
In these vast plains with numerous permanent waterholes, the herds of herbivores followed by their predators offer an impressive spectacle. The Serengeti is so large that you may be the only ones to witness the hunt led by the cheetah whose favourite prey is Thomson’s gazelle.
Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Wildlands Camp from April to November (or equivalent)
Or at Ndutu Wildlands Camp from January to March (or equivalent)
After breakfast, departure for the Natron region.
In the early morning, you will make your last safari in the Serengeti, as far as Klein’s exit
You will descend into the heart of the African Rift through Masai country.
Arrive mid-afternoon on the outskirts of Lake Natron. Despite its arid environment, this is the breeding ground for thousands of Lesser Flamingos.
Dinner and overnight at Natron River Camp (or equivalent)
Breakfast followed by a walk with a Masai guide to the edge of the Lake Natron, for a closer look at pink and lesser flamingos.
The lake covers hundreds of square kilometres and offers stunning landscapes of changing colours.
After lunch, a morning walk with your Masai guide to the Engare Sero Waterfalls, which gush out of the bottom of a superb gorge.
Return to your accommodation in the late afternoon. Take time to relax in front of the Lengaï.
This small village is famous for its local produce market, selling fruit and vegetables as well as handicrafts.
You’ll set off for a ride in a tuk-tuk, one of the means of transport used in the village. Along the way, mamas sell local produce and, depending on the season, you’ll find an abundance of mangoes, papayas, watermelons, avocados and the famous red bananas. You will visit painting and sculpture workshops. Meet the artists and craftspeople.
A lunch of traditional dishes is included in the tour.
After lunch, drive to Arusha
After breakfast at the lodge, you will spend a free morning in the town of Arusha to be arranged locally.
Lunch not included.
After lunch, departure for Kilimanjaro airport for your international flight or flight to Zanzibar for the extension.

If you wish to pay for certain purchases by credit card, you should be aware that additional credit card payment charges will be applied (approximately 4 to 6%).

Apart from the Kilimanjaro ascent, which requires special equipment, the weather is relatively warm all year round. You should, however, bring a jumper and windbreaker for nights spent near the crater or in a bivouac, as well as for stays in July and August, which can be cooler months. It is advisable to wear light trousers in the parks to ensure peaceful cohabitation with certain insects.
You’ll also need light walking shoes, a hat, sun cream, a torch, binoculars and batteries for your camera. Cameras with zoom lenses can be hired.
Please note that for domestic flights, only soft luggage, strictly limited to 15kg, is allowed (including hand luggage)!
It is common practice to tip people who accompany or assist you on your journey. To take your bag to your room, the porter will expect a small tip of TSH 500 (around €30), and the driver guide will expect $20 per day on safari.
